Job Description

As a Safety Lamp Keeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety of underground mining operations. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, maintaining, and ensuring the proper functioning of safety lamps used by miners. You will be responsible for conducting regular checks, reporting any concerns, and providing training to miners on the safe use of these lamps.

Responsibilities

• Test and certify lamps for compliance with mining safety regulations.
• Replace fuel and mantles as required for safe operation.
• Participate in emergency response drills related to lamp safety.
• Support other safety initiatives as directed by the management.
• Facilitate a training program for lamp safety and maintenance.
• Conduct audits to ensure all lamps are functioning correctly.
• Raise awareness on the importance of lamp safety in underground operations.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
• Basic First Aid Certificate

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in underground mining operations

Languages
