As a Critical Care Nurse (CCU RN), you will play a pivotal role in managing patients who are critically ill. Your responsibilities will include monitoring vital signs, administering life-saving medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimum patient care. Responsibilities

  • Utilise critical thinking to assess and manage patient care effectively.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection control protocols rigorously.
  • Coordinate with support staff to ensure a smooth workflow and patient care.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments to identify potential complications.
  • Facilitate family meetings to discuss patient care issues and progress.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the nursing department.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing is highly regarded
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a critical care nursing environment.
Technical Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of critical care protocols
  • Experience with patient assessment tools

Certifications
  • Registered Nurse License in Australia
  • Advanced Life Support Certification (Mandatory)
