Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sawing Machine Setter, Operator, and Tender to manage the operation of saws and other cutting tools. Your keen eye for quality and safety will contribute significantly to our production goals.

Responsibilities

• Setup and adjust saw machines for optimum performance.
• Monitor operation and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards for timber processing.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cutting equipment.
• Assist in training new operators in equipment usage and safety.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives to enhance product standards.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Sawmilling and Processing or equivalent

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Timber Proficiency

Advantageous

• Experience in operating additional cutting tools: Hands-on experience with various cutting machinery beyond standard saws.
• Knowledge of timber treatment processes: Understanding of how different timber types are treated and processed.
