Job Description

As an Explosives Worker, you will be responsible for arranging and handling explosives for blasting operations in both surface and underground mining environments. Your role is crucial to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-blast checks and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Prepare blasting areas and load explosives according to project requirements.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the project.
• Monitor blasting activities and make adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of blasting activities and report any issues to the site manager.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored when not in use.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

Requirements

Education

• Shot Firer License
• Higher School Certificate (HSC) preferred

Experience

• Experience in underground mining would be advantageous

Technical Skills

• Electronic Detonators
• Equipment Maintenance

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Leadership

Certifications

• Explosives Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience handling misfires: Proven ability to safely resolve misfires and other blast-related incidents.
• Supervisory experience: Experience in supervising or training junior staff members.
