Job Description

The Archives Specialist is crucial in managing and maintaining our organization's archives, ensuring maximum accessibility and preservation of records and historical materials. This role requires collaborating with various stakeholders to foster a culture of historical awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the organization’s archival materials.
  • Create an efficient filing system for all documentation.
  • Ensure protection and proper storage of all documents.
  • Assist in the retrieval of information when requested.
  • Support the creation of new records and documentation.
  • Facilitate the disposal of expired documents in line with policy.
  • Engage with the community through public programs and initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Archives Management, Library Science, History, or a related field
  • Advanced degree is preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in an archival repository or related cultural heritage institution
