Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher in our preschool setting, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering educational programmes that cater to children with special needs. You will work collaboratively to ensure each child’s safety and well-being while supporting their academic and social growth through engaging and flexible learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special needs in their academic, social, and personal development.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Provide one-on-one or group support to students during classroom activities and outings.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and document student progress, behaviour, and incidents.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development activities.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students at all times.
• Facilitate social interactions and promote independent living skills.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is desirable.

Advantageous

• First Aid/CPR Certification: Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
