Job Description

As a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome addiction and re-establish their lives. You will assess clients' needs, create tailored treatment plans, and provide ongoing support to ensure sustainable recovery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ progress.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans based on client needs.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to discuss client care strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety.
• Education clients about addiction and recovery processes.
• Support family members and significant others through the recovery journey.
• Advocate for clients’ needs both within the treatment facility and the wider community.
• Ensure adherence to ethical standards and legal requirements of practice.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
• Master's degree in Addiction Counseling preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role

Certifications

• Accreditation from a recognised body (e.g., AOD Council)

Languages

• English: Fluent
