Interrelated Special Education Teacher

Job Description

The Interrelated Special Education Teacher is responsible for teaching students with disabilities who need specialized academic and/or behavioral support in a classroom setting. The role involves creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student to facilitate their learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
• Provide instruction in various subjects while adapting materials to different learning styles.
• Implement behavioural strategies to encourage positive behaviour and learning.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education

Experience

• At least two years of experience as a special education teacher is preferred.
