Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Numismatist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will conduct extensive research to identify, evaluate, and appraise rare coins and currency. Your expertise will play a vital part in enhancing our collection and providing clients with accurate valuations. You will also maintain an organized archive of numismatic items, ensuring that the historical and cultural significance of each piece is properly documented.

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate numismatic items for historical significance.
  • Assist in appraising the collection for insurance and sale purposes.
  • Develop educational content related to numismatics.
  • Maintain records of provenance for each item in the collection.
  • Work with the team to curate exhibitions and public displays.
  • Provide insights on market trends to inform acquisition strategies.
  • Conduct outreach programs to engage the community in numismatics.
  • Participate in the development of online numismatic resources.
  • Foster relationships with collectors and enthusiasts in the field.
  • Assist in the organization of events that promote numismatic education.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Numismatics, History, or a related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in numismatics, with a focus on rare coins and currency.
