The Building Science and Energy Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing energy-efficient solutions for buildings. The role involves working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability improvements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform energy audits and building assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance building performance and reduce energy consumption.
  • Conduct research to stay informed about sustainable building technologies.
  • Advise project teams on integrating sustainable design features into building projects.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create effective training programs on energy efficiency.
  • Engage with stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability within the organisation.
  • Lead workshops and seminars demonstrating best practices in energy efficiency.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all procedures and findings related to energy audits.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Building Science, or a related field
  • Professional certification in energy efficiency or sustainability (e.g. Certified Energy Manager, LEED Accredited Professional)
  • Energy modeling software (e.g. EnergyPlus, eQuest) Proficient in energy modeling tools for building analysis.
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g. Revit, ArchiCAD) Experience in using BIM tools for building design.
  • Analytical thinking Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management Able to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Advantageous
  • Experience in working with government agencies and utilities on energy initiatives: Demonstrated experience collaborating with public sector entities.
  • Research and publication experience in energy efficiency: Prior work in publishing findings in sustainable practices.
