Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Townsville. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in civil engineering design and project management, working on infrastructure projects that improve the community. Your expertise will be critical in overseeing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring we deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering analyses to assess project viability.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality.
• Develop and implement project management methodologies.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide expert input.
• Assist with cost estimates and resource allocation.
• Work with environmental consultants to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support the business development team in securing new projects.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on new software or techniques.
• Document project progress and report to stakeholders.
• Ensure continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualifications would be advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the civil engineering field

• Project Management Software
• Geotechnical Engineering

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CPEng)
• NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local building codes and legislation: Understanding of Queensland's infrastructure regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D: Hands-on experience in using design software is preferred.
