Mental Health Counselor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Counselor to provide support and care for individuals dealing with mental health challenges. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and facilitating therapy sessions in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and the experience to address a variety of mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one counseling services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
• Assess client needs through interviews and psychological evaluations.
• Create and implement effective treatment strategies and measure outcomes.
• Support clients in crisis situations with appropriate interventions.
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to create holistic care solutions.
• Participate in training and supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mental health counseling

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Motivational Interviewing

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Active Listening

Certifications

• Mental Health First Aid Certification
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques: Experience providing crisis intervention is beneficial.
• Fluency in a second language: Ability to communicate in a language other than English.
