House Mother

Job Description

The House Mother will play a pivotal role in creating a harmonious living environment for students in our residential facility. Responsibilities include supervising student life, liaising with parents, and fostering personal development through mentoring and activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations within the residential facility.
• Develop and implement policies to maintain a supportive environment.
• Assist students experiencing personal, academic or social challenges.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of the facilities.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with policies.
• Foster community among students through social events.
• Collaborate with academic staff to support student needs.
• Manage the budget for residence activities.
• Liaise with external agencies when necessary.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in residential management or student services.

Technical Skills

Advantageous

• Experience in a boarding school environment: Prior experience working in a college or boarding school setting.
• Training in counselling or social work: Additional training or certifications in counselling or social support.
