Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Human Factors Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team in Sydney. In this role, you will conduct extensive research to explore how individuals interact with products and systems, gathering insights that will directly inform design decisions. Your expertise will contribute to creating user-friendly environments and enhance overall user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work closely with engineers and designers, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in product design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead user research initiatives to gather critical insights into user interactions.
  • Synthesize research data to derive actionable insights that enhance design development.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to implement user-centred practices.
  • Design and execute comprehensive usability tests.
  • Provide expert guidance on ergonomics and human-system interaction.
  • Facilitate the development of human factors engineering standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development in the field of human factors.
  • Document and disseminate research findings across the organization to inform wider practice.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials and resources related to human factors.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Psychology, or Ergonomics
  • Master's or advanced degree preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in human factors research or related field
