Job Description

The Radiological Defense Officer will manage and coordinate radiological defense activities within the Defence Safety framework. Your expertise in assessing radiation hazards and developing protection measures will be crucial in maintaining safety in military and civilian operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee radiological defense measures for various operational contexts.
  • Train personnel in the use of radiological safety equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international radiological safety standards.
  • Conduct assessments of radiation exposure risks in operational environments.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to enhance emergency response plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of radiological incidents, training sessions, and equipment checks.
  • Assist in the development of contingency plans for radiological emergencies.
  • Engage in community outreach regarding radiological safety and awareness.
  • Implement and oversee safety drills to prepare for radiological emergencies.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to improve overall safety protocols.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiological Physics or related field
  • Relevant military training also considered advantageous
Experience
  • 5+ years of operational experience within military or emergency response contexts
Technical Skills
  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
