Meter Reader Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a Meter Reader Inspector who will be responsible for accurately reading and inspecting utility meters. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a field setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections on utility meters for functionality.
• Document findings and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist in training new team members on meter reading protocols.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety regulations.
• Engage with customers to address any questions or concerns regarding their meters.
• Utilize GIS tools and software for tracking and reporting.
• Contribute to team meetings with insights on operational efficiencies.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Meter Reading or Inspection is a plus

Experience

• Prior experience in a relevant field or utility industry is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills

• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to use utility-specific software

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently

Certifications

• Driver's license with a clean driving record

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with GIS (Geographic Information System): Familiarity with GIS tools is highly advantageous for mapping and data accuracy.
• Prior experience working with utilities such as gas, water, or electric: Experience in utility industry roles will be beneficial.
