Job Description

As the School Lunch Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our lunch programme, ensuring that students receive nutritious, appetising meals in a hygienic environment. You will lead a team of kitchen staff, design menus that cater to dietary needs, and collaborate with school stakeholders to keep the lunch services running smoothly. Your role is pivotal in promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead menu planning and ensure that all meals meet nutritional standards
  • Manage kitchen operations, ensuring the team follows safety protocols
  • Engage with students and staff to promote healthy eating and food preferences
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on food safety and hygiene practices
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste
  • Regularly inspect food storage facilities to ensure compliance
  • Prepare reports on budgetary performance and student satisfaction
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality sourcing of ingredients
  • Plan events or activities that promote nutritional education among students
  • Participate in community outreach to promote school dining initiatives

Requirements

Education
  • First Aid certificate
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in food service management
