Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer

Job Description

As an Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of telecommunications lines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure consistent connectivity, swift troubleshooting, and high standards of safety are upheld while working in diverse environments, from urban setups to remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement layout plans for telecommunications lines.
• Conduct site surveys for new installations, considering environmental factors.
• Assist in organising and managing installation projects from start to finish.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and efficient service.
• Participate in safety drills and training to ensure readiness for emergencies.
• Review technical manuals and diagrams for line installations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with external contractors as needed to complete projects.
• Monitor emerging technologies and recommend relevant upgrades or changes.
• Engage in proactive measures to enhance the safety and efficiency of installations.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Telecommunications or equivalent
• Additional qualifications in Electrical Engineering are preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in telecommunications installation and repair

Certifications

• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) License (highly advantageous)

• English: Fluent

• Experience working at Heights: Practical experience working at heights, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Previous NBN Installation Experience: Familiarity with National Broadband Network (NBN) installations is preferable.
