Job Description

The Library Serials Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining our comprehensive serials collection. This includes managing both print and electronic journals, magazines, and newspapers. The successful candidate will handle cataloguing, processing, and shelving of serials while providing exceptional support to patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the processing and organization of incoming serials and periodicals.
  • Conduct training sessions for library staff about serials and e-resources.
  • Engage with patrons to gather feedback and improve service offerings.
  • Collaborate with the library team to enhance the physical and virtual user experience.
  • Facilitate workshops on how to utilize serials collections effectively.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or Information Management is preferred, or related field
Experience
  • Experience with serials management in an academic setting is a plus.
