Job Description

As a Forestry Fire Technician, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our forests by detecting, preventing, and suppressing wildfires. With your skills and experience, you'll ensure the safety of the environment and local communities while working in the great outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize GPS and mapping software to identify and assess high-risk fire zones.
  • Work closely with environmental scientists and ecologists to understand fire ecology.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to educate the public about fire safety.
  • Report to the Fire Management Supervisor and assist in strategic planning sessions.
  • Facilitate controlled burns in cooperation with environmental guidelines.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field is preferred
Experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience in fire management or forest protection.
Technical Skills
  • Heavy Machinery Operation

Certifications
  • Level 2 Firefighter Certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent
