Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Mount Gambier. The ideal candidate will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risks, and determine appropriate coverage and premiums. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance policies and regulations, along with excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Provide tax planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with current laws.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Stay updated with changes to tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and implement strategies to maximise client benefits.
• Conduct thorough tax research to support compliance and planning decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.
• Assist clients in resolving tax disputes and audits.
• Build and maintain client relationships while delivering high-quality service.
• Participate in professional development and training activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Advanced qualifications in Taxation are favourable

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on tax consulting experience

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with GST and Business Activity Statements (BAS): Practical experience in managing GST and preparing BAS for clients.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as MYOB or Xero: Proficient in using popular accounting software to manage client accounts efficiently.
