Join our team as a Health Information Specialist, responsible for the organization and integrity of medical data. Your role is pivotal in fostering communication between healthcare professionals and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage the storage and retrieval of patient health information.
Monitor compliance with national health information privacy standards.
Assist in the integration of new health information technologies.
Provide expert advice to clinical staff on data management.
Support quality improvement initiatives related to health information.
Participate in training sessions for new staff on health information management.
Liaise with external stakeholders regarding health data needs.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
Certification in medical coding (e.g. CPC, CCS)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification preferred
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Health Information Management or related field.
