Job Description

The Workers' Compensation Hearings Officer holds a vital role in conducting impartial hearings related to workers' compensation claims. This position requires indepth knowledge of relevant legal frameworks and a strong commitment to fairness and equity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire hearing process from start to finish.
  • Conduct interviews with involved parties, including medical professionals.
  • Critically assess evidence submitted in claims.
  • Interpret relevant legislation and apply it to decisions.
  • Prepare and communicate decisions to all parties involved.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve disputes when possible.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
  • Provide direct support to the Director of the Workers' Compensation Division.
  • Implement best practices for hearing processes.
  • Collaborate with various government agencies for effective resolution.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in law or related field is preferred

  • Experience in workers' compensation law highly regarded.
