Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team. You will be responsible for drawing blood samples, providing patient care, and ensuring the accuracy of specimen collection.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct blood draw procedures while adhering to established protocols.
  • Educate patients on the procedures and assist them in feeling comfortable.
  • Troubleshoot common issues related to blood draw processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
  • Continuously update knowledge of phlebotomy best practices.
  • Participate in training and continuous education programs.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in phlebotomy or pathology collection
Technical Skills
  • Venipuncture and capillary skills
  • Patient care
  • Record keeping

  • Communication
  • Attention to Detail
Certifications
  • Current registration with AHPRA
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with pediatric patients: Familiarity with special considerations when drawing blood from younger patients.
