Special Education Teacher, Secondary School

Job Description

The High School Learning Support Teacher is responsible for supporting students with learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and other requirements. You'll collaborate closely with school administration and academic staff to identify student needs and provide tailored support.

Responsibilities

• Engage in one-on-one coaching sessions to enhance student learning.
• Draft and review IEPs to target specific learning barriers.
• Work collaboratively with educators to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Facilitate small group interventions tailored to student needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
• Participate in professional development and community workshops related to education.
• Provide guidance in managing classroom dynamics and student interactions.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress towards IEP goals.
• Advocate for resources needed for students with special needs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Master's degree in Special Education preferred

Experience

• At least 2-3 years of experience working with students with special needs.

• Valid Teaching Certification in NSW
