Job Description

We are seeking a Demurrage Manager to oversee and manage demurrage claims and disputes within our maritime logistics operations. This role is critical for ensuring our clients' interests are protected, focusing on efficient resolution and fostering collaboration between stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the demurrage and detention claims process effectively.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of invoices before processing.
  • Negotiating settlements with shipping lines and clients regarding disputes.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation to support all claims and disputes.
  • Identifying potential areas for procedural enhancement to streamline operations.
  • Building strong relationships with external partners to facilitate smoother workflows.
  • Monitoring payment processes to ensure timely remittance.
  • Training new team members on best practices for claims management.
  • Collaborating with finance and operations teams on billing queries.
  • Adhering to all international shipping regulations impacting demurrage.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Master's degree in Logistics Management is a plus
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in shipping logistics or demurrage management
