As a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic, specifically a Dinkey Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining Dinkey locomotives used in the mining industry. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance schedules for Dinkey locomotives, ensuring timely completion.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
  • Repair and replace damaged components as required, ensuring to adhere to best practices.
  • Utilize various technical tools and equipment, including welding tools and hoists.
  • Implement safety measures and conduct risk assessments prior to performing repairs.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members in maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors for parts ordering and inventory management.
  • Support management in preparing reports on equipment performance and repairs.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and provide feedback on operational improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy machinery maintenance.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant mechanical qualification or experience
Experience
  • Prior experience with heavy machinery maintenance is essential.
