Job Description

The Artificial Breeding Laboratory Technician will work in a laboratory setting to assist with the breeding process and ensure the success of artificial insemination in livestock. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to support the breeding efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the evaluation and improvement of artificial insemination techniques.
• Engage in collaborative research efforts to enhance breeding outcomes.
• Contribute to the laboratory's compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work on special projects related to livestock genetics and reproduction.
• Review and manage laboratory inventory levels proactively.
• Be involved in team meetings to discuss breeding results and project progress.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Animal Technology or equivalent
• Higher qualifications in animal breeding or veterinary science are advantageous

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in a laboratory or animal breeding setting.

Technical Skills

• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely
• Proficient in database management software

Soft Skills

• Organizational skills
• Time management skills

Certifications

• Advanced Animal Breeding Techniques Certification
• Biosecurity Practices Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
