We are seeking a highly skilled Poultry Hatchery Manager to oversee our hatchery operations in Canberra. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day activities in the hatchery, ensuring optimal production levels and maintaining high-quality control standards. This role involves supervising staff, managing hatchery conditions, and implementing biosecurity measures to ensure the welfare of our poultry. As a critical position within our organisation, the Hatchery Manager will play a vital role in producing quality poultry products for the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all operations of the hatchery to ensure effective functioning.
  • Evaluate egg incubation conditions to maximise hatching efficiency.
  • Direct scheduled hatching and manage the flow of deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.
  • Maintain hatchery equipment in accordance with industry standards.
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance protocols.
  • Guide and mentor hatchery personnel for skill development.
  • Perform routine inspections and audits to maintain compliance.
  • Compile detailed reports for management on production statistics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve hatchery processes.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or Horticulture
Experience
  • Five years in managing large-scale hatchery operations
