Job Description

As a Correspondence Clerk, you'll play a crucial role in managing medical authorization requests and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. You will liaise with healthcare providers and maintain accurate records to facilitate efficient decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process incoming authorization requests and communicate with providers.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient filing system for medical records.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to facilitate the approval process for patient treatments.
  • Ensure all correspondence adheres to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems for accurate and timely documentation.
  • Assist in resolving denied authorization requests by gathering additional necessary documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations affecting authorizations.
  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Patient Access.
  • Assist in patient inquiries regarding their authorization status.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Additional certifications in medical billing or healthcare administration are an asset.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare administration or insurance verification.
