Job Description

As a Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering mental health services. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide both individual and group therapy to help clients achieve recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Conduct therapy sessions, including individual and group formats.
  • Evaluate and record client progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.
  • Document all therapy and assessment activities in compliance with legal standards.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care.
  • Lead psycho-educational workshops for clients and families.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in therapy and assessments.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and training sessions.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field is preferred
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of clinical experience with a focus on substance use treatment
