Job Description

As an Animal Caretaker, you'll play a vital role in the welfare of animals at our facility. Your responsibilities will include feeding, monitoring health, and ensuring they have clean and safe habitats. This role requires a genuine passion for animals and dedication to their care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely feeding and maintain hydration for all animals.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of animal living environments.
  • Observe and assess animal behaviour for signs of distress.
  • Assist in conducting veterinary procedures when necessary.
  • Facilitate educational programs for visitors.
  • Participate in animal training and enrichment initiatives.
  • Document all animal care activities in the record system.
  • Work collaboratively with the animal care team to enhance welfare.
  • Contribute to research projects involving animal behaviour and conservation.
  • Communicate effectively with the public regarding animal interactions.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Zoology or related field (preferred)
Experience
  • Previous experience working with exotic or endangered species is advantageous.
