Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Range Rider to join our team. As a Range Rider, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the effective management of livestock within designated grazing areas. Your role will involve collaborating with landowners and government bodies to uphold sustainable grazing practices while protecting the natural environment. Ideal candidates should have a robust understanding of livestock welfare and the ability to operate in remote conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of grazing lands and assess conditions regularly.
  • Monitor and maintain effective communication with landowners to ensure animal welfare priorities are aligned.
  • Identify areas for potential improvement in grazing management and contribute suggestions.
  • Document all relevant activities and report them to the livestock management team.
  • Collaborate with local communities to mitigate the impact of livestock on the environment.
  • Develop additional educational resources for best practices in animal husbandry.
  • Support legal compliance with necessary permits related to grazing.
  • Analyze grazing patterns and adjust strategies to promote sustainable practices.
  • Monitor the availability of water sources for livestock and report issues immediately.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align on livestock welfare initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications in range management or a related field will be advantageous
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in livestock management, preferably in remote areas.
