Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Legislator to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will navigate complex decision-making processes and possess excellent leadership abilities to effectively operate within our governmental structure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate records of all legislative proceedings.
• Facilitate public consultations and hearings on major issues.
• Collaborate with legal advisers to ensure lawful operations.
• Engage with the media to effectively communicate policies.
• Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
• Champion diversity and inclusion in the legislative process.
• Identify areas for improvement within the governance structure.
• Support staff development and training initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Represent the legislative assembly at various forums and conferences.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree in Political Science or Public Policy preferred

Experience

• More than 5 years in local government or a legislative role
