Job Description

We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated Animal Husbandry Worker. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of a diverse range of farm and aquaculture animals. Your daily tasks will include feeding, grooming, and monitoring the animals, as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment at our facility. You should have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Feed and water animals appropriately based on their dietary guidelines.
• Clean and maintain housing areas for all animal species.
• Monitor and document the health and behaviour of all animals.
• Assist the vet during routine examinations.
• Administer medication and treatment under veterinary direction.
• Support breeding programs as required.
• Handle animals safely and ensure their comfort.
• Conduct health checks regularly and report findings.
• Assist in transporting animals as needed.
• Keep a thorough record of the wellbeing and care of all animals.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Animal Care or related field preferred

Experience

• 2+ years in animal husbandry or related field

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• First Aid Certification: Certification indicating knowledge of animal first aid procedures.
• Experience with livestock management: Prior experience managing large groups of livestock.
