Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Beekeeper to manage our hives in Melbourne. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring the health and productivity of our bee colonies, harvesting honey, and educating staff on best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of beehives.
  • Monitor bee health, identifying and mitigating pest issues.
  • Harvest honey and manage product quality assurance.
  • Execute techniques for hive management including splitting and combining colonies.
  • Ensure all beekeeping operations adhere to safety regulations.
  • Provide training for new staff members on beekeeping methods.
  • Maintain records of hive health and honey production statistics.
  • Engage with local farming communities to promote pollination services.
  • Implement best practices in sustainable beekeeping.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance hive performance.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate or diploma in beekeeping or agriculture
  • Formal qualifications are preferred but not required
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in beekeeping or a similar role
