Job Description

Join our team as a Nursing Assistant, where your primary responsibility will be to assist patients in achieving optimal comfort and health. Your proactive approach in emergency situations will be crucial in delivering quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient's vital signs and report any changes to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist with mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Administer medication as prescribed by the physician.
  • Observe and document patient's behavior, mood, and level of discomfort.
  • Ensure patient's safety and comfort at all times.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations and follow established protocols.
  • Communicate with patient's family members and provide emotional support.
  • Assist with discharge planning and follow-up care.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate III in Healthcare or equivalent qualification
  • AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or aged care facility.

Certifications
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Certificate IV in Healthcare or higher qualification: Tertiary qualifications in healthcare are highly regarded.
  • Experience working with critically ill patients: Previous exposure to critically ill patients is advantageous.
