Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Conservation Scientist to lead habitat restoration initiatives. You will coordinate efforts across teams and communities, ensuring effective implementation of restoration plans and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and execution of habitat restoration initiatives.
• Engage with local communities to foster support for restoration efforts.
• Analyze ecological data and produce summaries for stakeholders.
• Integrate best practices in conservation and habitat management.
• Provide technical guidance to project coordinators and field staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in habitat restoration or related field.

Technical Skills

• Terrestrial Ecology
• GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS)
• Statistical Analysis (e.g., R)

Certifications

• Ecological Restoration Practitioner Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with bushfire management: Familiarity with bushfire ecology and management practices.
• Knowledge of local flora and fauna: Understanding of Australian plant species and their habitat requirements.
