Job Description

As a Bosun at Marine Services Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in managing our deckhands and ensuring the safe, efficient operation of our vessels. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment and compliance with maritime regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead deck crew in daily operations and tasks
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment
• Ensure proper safety protocols are followed
• Assist in emergency response drills and procedures
• Manage deck supplies and logistics
• Coordinate with the Chief Officer for smooth operations
• Train new deckhands on safety and operational procedures
• Ensure cleanliness and order on the vessel
• Document and report any incidents or issues
• Collaborate with other departments for operational success

Requirements

Education

• Certification in Maritime Safety

Experience

• Experience managing a team of deckhands in commercial marine operations

Technical Skills

• Marine Electronics

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Advanced firefighting certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with marine safety protocols: Experience dealing with emergency situations onboard.
• Knowledge of various vessel types and sizes: Experience working with diverse vessels in the maritime industry.
