Marine Services Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Boat Hoist Operator Helper to support the safe lifting and moving of boats within our facilities. This pivotal role involves assisting the Boat Hoist Operator, ensuring equipment is maintained and operated efficiently, and contributing to a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the safe operation of boat hoists and related equipment.
• Check and secure boats for safe transport.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on hoisting systems and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace in all areas of operations.
• Cooperate with the team to ensure efficient operation of boat handling.
• Support boat owners with information and assistance during operations.
• Monitor environmental conditions that may affect operations.
• Keep detailed records of operations and maintenance activities.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in a similar role within the maritime industry is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of boating terminology
• Operational knowledge of hoist control systems

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Reliability

Certifications

• Forklift license

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of safety regulations in maritime operations: Understand the rules and measures to maintain safety on the job.
• First Aid training: Certification in first aid is highly desirable for emergency situations.
