Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Perform surgeries and monitor recovery in patients.
• Advise pet owners on nutrition and proper pet care.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to clients.
• Maintain inventory and order medical supplies as needed.
• Assist with emergency cases and on-call duties.
• Participate in community outreach and education events.
• Advocate for animal welfare in local initiatives.
• Work with local shelters and rescue groups.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine
• Additional training in surgery or emergency medicine is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in veterinary practice, including surgical experience

• Animal behaviour understanding
• Internal medicine knowledge

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Critical thinking

Certifications

• Member of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA)
• Certification in Canine and Feline Practice

Languages

• English: Fluent
