Cutting and Slicing Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of roll cutting machines. Your primary focus will be ensuring precise cuts of materials such as paper, fabric, and packaging materials according to specifications. This position requires keen attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure to meet production targets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up machinery for cutting jobs based on specifications.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as necessary during production.
• Keep a detailed log of production data and machine settings.
• Monitor quality of output and make adjustments to maintain standards.
• Assist in training new staff on machine operation and safety standards.
• Evaluate work processes and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
• Collaborate with management to streamline production operations.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Finishing and Converting) or related field

Experience

• Experience in the packaging industry is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Knowledge of different materials and cutting requirements

Soft Skills

• Strong organizational skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of automation software: Experience with software used for controlling machinery is a plus.
• Experience in quality assurance: Prior experience in a quality assurance role can enhance your profile.
