Job Description

As the Therapeutic Recreation Director, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing innovative recreational activities that cater to the diverse needs of clients facing physical and mental health challenges. You will be responsible for fostering a positive environment where all clients can thrive, facilitating social interactions, and ensuring that programs align with best practices in therapeutic recreation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of recreational activities that promote social interaction and health.
  • Ensure that all activities are inclusive and accessible.
  • Inventory and manage equipment and resources required for programs.
  • Develop marketing materials to promote recreational services.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify areas for program improvement.
  • Collaborate with external organisations for programme partnerships.
  • Prepare and present program reports to management.
  • Utilize technology to enhance program delivery and monitoring.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness.
  • Incorporate client feedback into program development.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous
Experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated success in program management.
