Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate Bariatric Weight Loss Counselor to join our team. As a key player in our program, you will provide vital guidance and support to individuals who have undergone bariatric surgery or are considering it. Your role will not only include developing personalized weight loss plans but also offering emotional support that helps patients navigate their weight loss journey.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient readiness for surgery and facilitate the transition process.
  • Advise on post-operative care and adjustments in daily routines.
  • Organise and lead support groups for weight loss patients.
  • Monitor dietary compliance and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Promote physical activity as part of a comprehensive weight loss strategy.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members to ensure all aspects of patient care are addressed.
  • Maintain a resource library with current research and tools for patients.
  • Utilise electronic health records to track patient progress effectively.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about bariatric options.
  • Foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment for patients.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Psychology, or a relevant field
  • Master’s degree is an advantage
Experience
  • 3 years of experience in a related field, ideally with bariatric patients
