Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Equal Opportunity Representative to support our mission of safeguarding civil rights for all Australians. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing educational outreach programs, conducting investigations into civil rights violations, and promoting awareness of equality and justice issues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate community workshops on civil rights education.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into complaints made by community members.
  • Develop outreach materials to raise awareness of civil rights issues.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to address complex civil rights matters.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of civil rights initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with local government and non-profit organizations.
  • Implement strategies to engage marginalised communities proactively.
  • Report findings to management and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Contribute to policy discussions relevant to civil rights.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations and community outreach activities.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in civil rights or social justice advocacy.
