Job Description

As a Waste Disposal Plant Operator, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of waste processing and ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally. You will be responsible for compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Analyze system data and make adjustments as necessary.
• Keep detailed logs of plant performance for regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment servicing.
• Develop strategies for waste minimization and sustainability.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
• Advocate for workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
• Assess risks and develop mitigation plans during operations.
• Provide mentorship to new operators and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Environmental Management or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in waste management plant operations.

Technical Skills

• Data analysis tools
• Industrial control software

Soft Skills

• Good time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure

Certifications

• Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience using remote monitoring systems: Skills in managing operations via mobile apps and remote technologies.
• Experience with project management: Ability to lead small projects within the plant to improve operations.
