Job Description

The Fixed-Wing Transport Aircraft Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed-wing transport aircraft to ensure their safety and airworthiness. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a penchant for technical problem-solving and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance plans and schedules to maintain aircraft integrity.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations.
• Review and revise standard operating procedures for maintenance.
• Support flight operations with technical knowledge and expertise.
• Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities and findings.
• Coordinate with procurement for necessary parts and supplies.
• Lead safety meetings and maintain an incident report log.
• Engage with external stakeholders as needed for specialized maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited aviation maintenance program
• Additional certification in avionics, structures, or engines is advantageous

Experience

• Experience with specific fixed-wing transport aircraft models is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Aircraft modification experience
• Knowledge of CAD software

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• FAA or CASA Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in aircraft modification projects: Experience with enhancements and upgrades to fixed-wing aircraft.
