Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations at our client sites. The ideal candidate will conduct safety inspections, provide training, and help to foster a culture of safety within the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
• Conduct comprehensive safety audits and risk assessments.
• Draft safety reports and documentation following inspections.
• Coordinate safety training sessions for staff.
• Advise management on safety policy development.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary.
• Monitor and report on key safety metrics.
• Foster a culture of safety within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Experience with safety management systems preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of proven experience in safety compliance.

Technical Skills

• Ability to interpret technical documents and reports
• Proficient in software for data analysis

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills

Certifications

• Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 45001

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to speak a second language: Proficiency in any additional language is a plus.
• Experience in developing safety training programs.: Proven track record of creating impactful safety training.
