Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Planer Setup Operator to join our team. This role involves setting up and maintaining machines to ensure the smooth operation of the planing, shaping, and sizing processes. Attention to detail and precision will be key in meeting our high standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for setting up and running CNC and manual machines for lumber processing.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance.
• Ensure that all relevant safety measures are in place during operation.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production expectations and goals.
• Help in the continuous improvement of machine operation procedures.
• Conduct end-of-day equipment checks and maintenance.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in machinery.
• Report any equipment failures or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant vocational qualification preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in machine operation or woodworking

Technical Skills

• CNC machine operation
• Edge-banding machine experience
• Automated material handling systems

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with automated systems: Knowledge of automated material handling systems within a workshop environment.
• Ability to analyse production data: Experience in studying production metrics and implementing improvements.
