Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing and Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance coverage, and communicating with patients regarding billing inquiries. Your contributions will ensure that our patients receive timely and accurate billing for medical services.

Responsibilities

  • Handle billing and insurance inquiries from patients and insurance providers.
  • Process claims and follow-up on rejected claims with insurance companies.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information in the billing system.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and provide regular reports to the finance department.
  • Assist patients in understanding insurance benefits and coverage.
  • Coordinate with the medical records department to ensure all patient records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Resolve billing-related issues and disputes with patients and insurance providers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Requirements

Education
  • Certificate or diploma in medical billing or related field
  • Higher qualifications in healthcare or finance are a plus
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and insurance coordination preferred
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement procedures and regulations
  • Understanding of healthcare billing codes and terminology
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting: Relevant experience that complements the billing coordination role.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems: Proficiency in accessing and managing patient information through EHR.
